BackChannel Clubhouse DM feature launched today, users can now directly message on Clubhouse. BackChannel Clubhouse DM feature will be available for both Android and iOS users.

Currently, users will only be able to chat one on one, in groups, and send links. According to the app spokesperson users will not be able to send images and videos and a few other features.

Clubhouse App will also offer an optional secondary inbox where message requests will live.

The latest feature will allow moderators to chat among themselves during an active room, connect with people after an event, and foster text conversations that earlier used to take place in a separate app.

The Clubhouse has been working on this feature since June. Ever since its launch, the app has been downloaded over 8 million times on Android, and nearly 500,000 rooms are created daily.

With the latest feature, Clubhouse rubs shoulders when it comes to competing with others such as Twitter Spaces and Facebook Live Audio Rooms when it comes to allowing people to text chat while running or participating in an audio conversation.
