The pandemic has also not slowed down the home fitness equipment industry, according to data published by Research and Markets, the industry has witnessed significant growth over the coming years – from $14 billion in 2021 to almost $22 billion by 2028.

Streaming video fitness classes are a popular alternative to exercise, usually in the form of an app you can access on multiple devices and not requiring equipment. Business travelers find this especially useful as you don’t need to be at the gym and they can take a workout while traveling.

Tim Bajarin, a veteran tech analyst, agrees and believes there are many benefits to the appeal of fitness apps that can be used anywhere at any time.

This can be seen by consumers being able to get what they want in an accessible and personalized way.

The Peloton app offers live and on-demand classes, including indoor cycling, running, walking, boot camp, strength, yoga and outdoor music.

Peloton’s All-Access memberships for $44/month let you keep track of your progress and see other athletes taking the same class as you to help with your fitness motivation.

Apple Fitness+ Plans
Apple Fitness+ costs $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year is available exclusively for Apple devices and provides access to thousands of 4K video workouts led by professional trainers.

The Apple Watch app gives you options such as walking, running, HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), and more. You can also listen to music for guided meditation or supervised workouts.

Apple Fitness+ take on Peloton
Via the Apple Fitness app, which is cross-compatible across all of Apple’s devices, you can track your personal fitness statistics. If you are also buying an apple-branded watch, at checkout you will be able to download this free for three months.

Most classes don’t require any equipment, but some may require items like a yoga mat, dumbbells, an indoor cycling bike, a rowing machine or a treadmill.

Apple Fitness+ is available in the Fitness app on iPhone, and as a separate app for Apple Watch. It’s also available on iPad and Apple TV.
