With WhatsApp Payments, you may soon be able to earn cashback. WhatsApp has been aggressively pushing its payments service in India and Brazil in a bid to get its slice of the money transfer pie.

The feature can help you send your friends some money to cover their food combo bills just in case they leave their wallets in the car. There are many other things you can do with it, while paying back in credit is one of the many features WhatsApp offers.

According to WABetainfo, WhatsApp is currently developing a future version of the app with the WhatsApp feature. They have discovered a code, which indicated its “cashback” feature is limited to India, or that’s maybe another location WhatsApp intends to use it first. The images suggest the value is just ten rupees for the promotional period ie. around 14 cents American.

Reports suggest the feature will enable users to view the cashback value in their accounts 48 hours after sending the initial transfer. Though the feature may not be available to everyone initially as WhatsApp will probably introduce the offers to new users who have not used the payment transfer feature earlier.

The release dates for the feature for regular users are not known at the moment.
