Apple Arcade Pro -  Iphone-Inspired Handheld Gaming Device With Two Notches And Controls
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Apple Arcade pro is an iPhone-inspired handheld gaming device with two notches and controls designed by Junwoo Kim & Joonho Sung. Apple has not really ventured into gaming space beyond the odd Monument Valley or AR-based game that they’ve showcased at their keynotes.

The Apple Arcade Pro makes things a lot different as this hardware concept rivals the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, or any of the Android-based gaming phones. The Apple Arcade Pro company can definitely make its presence felt in the gaming industry.Apple Arcade Pro -  Iphone-Inspired Handheld Gaming Device With Two Notches And Controls_1With Google Stadia on life support, Microsoft Xbox Game Pass not picking up with users, and the Steam Deck not reaching out to many people players are literally clinging on with the Nintendo Switch which is the only handheld device with a strong presence in the gaming market. Apple Arcade Pro -  Iphone-Inspired Handheld Gaming Device With Two Notches And Controls_2With the introduction of Apple Arcade Pro, this situation will massively tilt the equation. First, by championing mobile-based AAA gaming, the Apple A15 Bionic chip to even better use, and allow Apple’s Arcade service to expand rapidly. Giving serious competition to the likes of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. Fortnite lovers will have to wait as it won’t be coming to the Apple gaming ecosystem anytime soon…Apple Arcade Pro -  Iphone-Inspired Handheld Gaming Device With Two Notches And Controls_3The Apple Arcade Pro features a Stainless Steel body in four different finishes and sports the same flat-edge design as the iPhone. The front-facing camera with a notch, where the two notches on either side of the device allow the Arcade Pro to have its controls, ie. the ambidextrous set of D-pads that change function depending on what game you’re playing.  The volume buttons sitting on the rim are replaced by the left and right shoulder buttons, and the speaker modules go from one corner to the other, allowing you to enjoy an immersive gaming experience. Instead of equipping the Arcade Pro with the best-quality camera as you’d find in the iPhone, the Arcade Pro instead has an iPhone X-inspired dual-lens system that sits further to the corner, so it doesn’t get obstructed by your hands as you game. In between the two cameras, however, sits a LiDAR sensor that turns the Arcade Pro into the world’s first AR-based dedicated handheld gaming console.Apple Arcade Pro -  Iphone-Inspired Handheld Gaming Device With Two Notches And Controls_5The other features included in Apple Arcade Pro is the upgraded Taptic Engine that allows for better haptic gaming, the Magic Joy buttons identical to the ones on the Apple TV remote, 95W MagSafe charging on the back, and a new Game OS, designed specifically to highlight the new gaming experience. Apple Arcade Pro -  Iphone-Inspired Handheld Gaming Device With Two Notches And Controls_6The Apple Arcade Pro actually redefines the Apple Arcade service and spins the arcade service into its own standalone service. This means you get a dedicated operating system that prioritizes games first, while also offering other features/apps like Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, Safari, etc. Apple Arcade Pro -  Iphone-Inspired Handheld Gaming Device With Two Notches And Controls_7That’s not all you can take a break from gaming and watch content as there’s a Pro Stand-inspired Gravity Stand that lets you prop your device on it and easily enjoy watching stuff online. The concept also hints at cellular services, though it does not have a SIM tray that’s visible, we are pretty much sure it you can view Messages with a front-facing camera, Memoji, and FaceTime seems out of the picture.Apple Arcade Pro -  Iphone-Inspired Handheld Gaming Device With Two Notches And Controls_8The design is pretty much a concept and Apple won’t be releasing it for real anytime soon. With the gaming industry getting bigger than Hollywood, the music industry, the NBA, NFL, and MLB all combined, the Apple Arcade Pro is a perfect idea at least on paper.
