Apple may launch its low-priced version of Pro Display XDR with ProMotion in early 2022. This was revealed via a tweet from Apple’s display supply chain consultant CEO, Ross Young.
According to Young, the 27-inch display will feature mini-LED backlighting similar to Apple’s 32 inch Pro Display XDR. This means it will probably be associated with the XDR branding too.

In the tweet, Young revealed Apple’s plan to release a new display in the first quarter of 2022. The cost of the 27 inch XDR will be less expensive than the Pro Display XDR which is priced at $4,999.
The 27-inch display will feature ProMotion, this allows an adaptive refresh rate between 24Hz and 120Hz. Though it is not clear what its display resolution would be, the Pro Display XDR features 6K resolution.
Earlier this year Apple introduced a few other products with LED displays such as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro this week.
Young is a prominent name when it comes to displaying related rumors, his earlier predictions with the new iPad mini would feature an 8.3-inch display and that the new MacBook Pro models would feature ProMotion.
