CES 2022 has just kicked off in Las Vegas with many exhibitors and journalists attending the show remotely due to the surge of omicron cases and travel restrictions. As always the event does not fail to impress one and all with hundreds of new products that make appearances at the show. 

The event offers a sneak peek into the future consumer electronics trend and this year too has a number of products that may soon be seen in your home. Earlier events have seen gadgets such as camcorder and CD player (1981), DVDs (1996), HDTV (1998), DVR (1999), satellite radio (2000), Xbox (2001), Blu-ray Disc (2003) Smart TV (2005), tablets (2010), driverless cars (2013) and 4K UHD TVs (2014) being part of every household by now.

LG G2 series 97 inch OLED TV 
LG G2 series TV introduced is large enough for your wall, along with the world’s first 97 inch OLED introduced a new 83-inch model to compliment the 55-, 65- and 77-inch TVs already in the lineup. The screen of the latest OLED TV is thin and light which makes it easy to mount. It offers sharp color and unprecedented contrast ratios, including super dark blacks. The TV does not require backlighting as each pixel comes with its own light source. Moen touchless faucets have been around, the latest model Moen Smart Faucet with Motion Control reminds us of the “Star Trek” episode The Next Generation where Captain Picard would ask the replicator for a hot cup of Earl Grey tea. 

The Smart Faucet allows you to wave your hand in front of the sensor to start and stop the flow of water. Additionally, now you can control the temperature using gestures in the air, too. ASUS presented its Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, a 17.3-inch computer that offers a flexible panel that can be folded in half. When it comes to retro game cabinets, Arcade 1Up is the name to go for. Its 3/4-sized arcade machines featuring classics like Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man have been a huge success. As is the case with its countertop and sit-down head-to-head models and virtual pinball tables.

Freestyle is Samsung’s latest portable projector, it weighs less than 2 pounds. This makes it easy to carry around wherever you go. It features a 180-degree cradle stand which enables you to splash a movie on your ceiling or beam onto a wall, up to 100 inches. You can add a solar panel to charge up or regular lights in your living room. 

Other things that impressed us at this year’s CES 2022 was TikTok TV, Atmosphere announced its partnership with TikTok and will add the social media platform to its existing roster of content partners like America’s Funniest Home Videos, Red Bull, and X Games.
