Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte is the second on the list of its bold new flavors. Coca-Cola Starlight, a red version of the iconic soda was introduced earlier in Jan 2022. The limited-edition drinks’ flavor was inspired by space.
Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte is its latest offering with a taste of pixels. According to Oana Vlad, senior director of strategy at Coca-Cola, “Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte makes the intangible taste of the pixel tangible. The Coca-Cola taste you know and love with bright elements upfront and refreshing with the finish.”
The product was available online in late March on an island in the Fortnite game. The island Pixel Point was created, thanks to the Coca-Cola and PWR partnership within Fortnite.
Players were able to reach Pixel Point and play different games, one game featured a classic glass Coke bottle. Now you can get your hand on a Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte for real and use the pixelated label to play an augmented reality game with your phone.
Many beverage brands have been trying to endorse this idea with gamers, and it looks like the competition is heating up. Coca-Cola has partnered with video game developer Riot Games.
US users can buy Byte online starting May 2 while supplies last. Only zero sugar two-pack flavor is available in the US. Users will have to pay an additional $15 for shipping. Byte will be available in some Latin American countries Monday, and in China on May 23.
