Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 appears to ape Splatoon, with the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ success, Fortnite released their own battle royale game, using ideas from PUBG, and other games.
Fortniters will be excited by the new content. The new content added yesterday, it seems that Epic Games is now looking to Splatoon for inspiration.
Fortnite Chapter 3 of Season 4 of “Paradise” sees the game go Chrome. It is a parasitic metallic substance that takes over people’s bodies, allowing them to morph into other human forms, and yes, it’s blatantly Terminator 2. But there’s more.
In “Paradise”, With the new T-1000 infection, players can walk through walls. But with Chrome Splash, they’re also able to blobbify themselves so that when they run, they’re a liquid goop designing across the floor. In a way uncannily similar to how you can turn into ink and glide Splatoon.
One of the best things about Fortnite is that it looks great. They blend ideas from other games and make them look astonishing. You have the option to fight as Spider-Gwen and they also allow universal crossover with every licence-able property meeting every other game’s core idea.
Though it’s understandable to question the impact that Fortnite taking Splatoon’s mechanics will have on other games, Splatoon would never have existed without previous games. As I said, this is just how art works.
