Oracle Linux 8.5 is now available for WSL in the Microsoft Store. You can now download Oracle Linux 8.5, the latest addition to the many other Linux distros available out there which includes Ubuntu, Debian, Kali, SUSE, and OpenSUSE.
Oracle Linux 8.5 was officially released on Monday, Jan 31 on the Microsoft Store. The arrival of the product will be welcomed by developers wanting to run Linux software in a Windows environment.
The Microsoft Store listing stated, “Oracle Linux combines the fundamental building blocks of modern IT infrastructure: operating system, containers, and virtualization into one integrated offering. Oracle Linux provides the reliability, scalability, security, and performance to run demanding SaaS, PaaS, and traditional enterprise workloads.”
You can launch the app once it’s installed by typing “oraclelinux85” in the command prompt. Likewise, you can also click the Oracle Linux 8.5 tile in the Windows 10/11 Start menu.
For installing Oracle Linux updates, you need to run a yum update in the Oracle Linux Terminal.
