Amazon has set up Amazon Clinic a virtual healthcare service in the US, in an attempt to provide access to convenient, affordable care and expand its presence in the healthcare space

Amazon is already running Amazon Pharmacy, a platform that enables people to purchase prescribed medications through the Amazon online store from the comfort of their homes.

The Amazon Clinic strives to provide virtual care to people through its partnership with trusted providers. In addition, the service is available in 32 states. It will offer affordable access to more than 20 common health conditions including allergies, acne, and hair loss.

How Amazon Clinic Works?
Customers with certain conditions who are interested in telehealth can find a provider from the new healthcare store. All they need to do is mention their medical condition, fill out a short intake questionnaire and connect with the clinician via a message-based chat portal. Once the client has been seen by the clinician, he or she will be able to send your personalized treatment plan – including any prescriptions necessary – to your preferred pharmacy.

One of the best features of this consultation is the follow-up messages with the clinician. You’ll get up to two weeks’ worth of contact after your initial consultation.

Amazon says that every telehealth provider available on Amazon Clinic is evaluated by the team’s clinical quality and experience evaluations.

The clinical team at the backend will help you find the right care solution for your needs. They’ll let you know upfront if it doesn’t seem like a good fit and connect you with a provider that better suits what you’re looking for.
