
According to DownDetector.com, an outage monitoring site, an internet outage has hit some of the largest corporations in the United States.
The sites impacted due to the internet outage include Seattle based companies such as Amazon, Valve’s Steam game platform, Microsoft, Expedia and Costco and many other national brands and sites.
Initially the outage was reported to be due to issues at a major content delivery network Akamai. Akamai even tweeted about the same at 9:47 a.m. Pacific about the problem being identified and being resolved.
Akamai is experiencing a service disruption. We are actively investigating the issue and will provide an update in 30 minutes.
