Apple Pay Available For Mir Cardholders in Russia

Apple Pay available for Mir cardholders in Russia, after completing five years since it was launched and receiving steady support from regional banks.

Mir card is accepted in 11 countries and across the entire Russian Federation. Around 99 million cards have been issued since 2015 in Russia.

According to Vladimir Komlev, Mir’s General Director, in a statement said, “Connecting to Apple Pay will provide Mir cardholders with another convenient, fast and secure contactless payment method.”

He said, “Users will also have access to all the benefits of Mir payment. Discounts when paying for subway travel, cashback for purchases from partners of the Mir payment system and other current offers.”

Apple Pay will steadily be compatible across numerous banks working with Mir.

Komlev said, Sberbank, VTB, Rosselkhozbank, PSB, Post Bank, Center-invest Bank, Tinkoff Bank and Primsotsbank will be the first banks to provide their customers with Mir cars with Apple Pay service.
