China will tighten copyright protection for Live streaming and eCommerce platforms by 2025, according to the country’s copyright regulators.
According to Reuters, these steps will be taken in a bid to improve and strengthen new industries and new areas in accordance with the 14th Five-Year Plan for Copyright Work issued by the National Copyright Administration.
Under the plan, the development and application of new technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain will be strengthened. Further copyright protection in sports events, variety shows, live streaming, and e-commerce platforms will be improved.
