Former US president and a reality TV star, Donald Trump goes crazy against electric cars.
His point of view? We should get rid of this stuff because charging infrastructure is still lacking in the country. If you’re scratching your head, we are too.
The view from America is bizarre as large swathes of the United States still see the electric car as a pointless and expensive replacement of the gas-guzzling automobile. With charging infrastructure still lacking it keeps many scratching their heads.
In the face of high energy prices, Trump made a comment that oil prices were much lower during his presidency. However, there is no logical explanation for his need to comment on an electric car if he agrees with the fact that it is a cheaper alternative to gasoline.
Electrek believes that this innovation will come under Trump’s “Save America” efforts.
Trump spoke about a friend who complained about having to stop to charge their car during the road trip.
Electrek reports the least efficient model of electric vehicle on the market only gets 38 miles per gallon, which is half that of Trump’s Tesla.
Though advancements have been made in the EV charging infrastructure, this infrastructure should continue to exist. Although there are many chargers that only offer a slow trickle of electricity, not too many chargers are like this.
In an effort to address the issue of charging, infrastructure may be the answer. The current administration is pushing for more investment in creating charge stations to minimize the number of vehicles without chargers on the road.
Calling for electric cars to be banished is counterproductive and a waste of time.
Was Trump responding to recent comments made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who called for Trump to “hang up his hat and sail into the sun,” arguing that he is too old to be President again 20204?
Trying to make sense of Trump’s latest outbursts is probably foolish.
EVs are on the rise, and now is the time to find ways to support this movement. Tech exists for EVs, but some people may not have access yet…
Besides, Trump himself was a fervent supporter not too long ago. “I’m OK with electric cars, too,” he said during a 2020 presidential debate. “I’ve given big incentives for electric cars. What they’ve done in California is just crazy.”
