Metaverse is showing no signs of slowing down, fashion brand Gucci buys land in the Sandbox ahead of Fashion week. Many tech companies such as Tencent, Huawei Technologies, and NetEase have registered trademarks related to the Metaverse earlier last year. The trend seems to be continuing with major sporting franchises, music powerhouses, and multinational corporations turning to the Metaverse.
Notable names turning to Metaverse
- Tennis Australia launched a tennis tournament on Decentraland (MANA), which allows fans from across the world to access the Australian Open.
- U.S-South Korean collaboration to take Kpop to the Metaverse, it will allow music fans to experience live music and access to their favorite artists, in the Metaworld from their own living rooms.
- Warner Music Group collaborated with Sandbox with plans for a beachfront estate to be a musical theme park and a concert venue.
Metaverse offers a promising future with the sport, music, and fashion industry embracing it. Earlier last week on Twitter, Vogue Business announced a 4-day digital fashion week on Decentraland starting 24th March.
Front rows and after parties are in, but tickets are out. Your digital outfit matters, but seasons aren’t relevant. Welcome to fashion week in the metaverse.https://t.co/iPjbUCkas6

Global brands and visitors will be able to experience the fashion shows virtually, attend live music sessions and after-parties. Attendees can also buy and wear digital clothing from catwalk avatars. You can also redeem some of the digital catwalk collections to receive the brand’s physical piece. To make all purchases they will require an Ethereum (ETH) wallet.
Gucci Buys LAND in the Sandbox
Gucci also does not want to stay behind, the fashion house has already held an event in the Metaverse. Earlier in 2021, Gucci and Roblox collaborated to host the “Gucci Garden”. It was an installation of the real world installation in Italy and offered themed rooms to commemorate Gucci’s centenary.

Attendees will be able to buy and use fashion items in the Metaverse. Gucci will likely be sharing its plans for Metaverse in the days and weeks ahead.
