Hyper Sting Supersonic Concept Plane
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Hyper Sting supersonic concept plane designed by Oscar Viñals has the potential to fly you from London to New York in just 80 minutes.

The Barcelona-based designer believes the rapid developments in aviation technology will make this possible. This futuristic magazine has been ubiquitous on social media and has also been referred to as “Oscar’s flying machine”, which goes from place to place in record time.Hyper Sting Supersonic Concept Plane_2The idea is to combine cold fusion nuclear systems with innovative Mach 3.5 technology, which would allow a plane to travel at speeds of up to 2,500 mph–faster than the average current commercial flight takes. If the plan comes to fruition, it could take as little as 80 minutes for the journey from London to New York.Hyper Sting Supersonic Concept Plane_3Concorde was the first supersonic commercial carrier and could complete a popular route in two hours, 52 minutes and 59 seconds. Its rise coincided with the height of corporations that would move businessmen to meetings in a matter of days because they used technology like Concorde.Hyper Sting Supersonic Concept Plane_4Concorde was decommissioned in 2003, which contributed to a lack of demand due to rising costs and a crash in 2000.

The Hyper Sting supersonic concept plane design for long-distance aviation travel is 328 feet long, which is 100 feet longer than most 747-400 planes used by airlines today. The wingspan for the aircraft is 169 feet, which would make it a force to be reckoned with on runways at Heathrow Airport and beyond as it shuttles 170 passengers around.Hyper Sting Supersonic Concept Plane_5As aircraft technology advances, flight time will inevitably decrease. The North American X-15 broke speed records over 50 years ago with a speed of Mach 6.7.Hyper Sting Supersonic Concept Plane_6However, given the superior production costs, one has to wonder how long these services will be available.

Oscar’s vision is the latest in a string of aviation designs. The future of air travel is not yet known. The bustling world of air travel will be affected by climate change and that there are more changes to the way we do it now.
