North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2022 is back since it started back in 2019. The NAIAS 2022 Detroit Auto Show is coming back after a long break of three years due to COVID-19 pandemic and its going to be very different from previous years.

This week the NAIAS 2022 Detroit Auto Show finally opens its doors for the media, business professionals, and the general public. The event was attended by the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg this Wednesday.

Biden said the federal government had authorized financing for 35 states, including Michigan, to start constructing electric charging stations beside major thoroughfares.Mustang2021 The United States has experienced good car sales metrics, though many automakers also faced several difficulties. There were several reasons behind things like lack of semiconductors and rising prices for commodities and shipping that adversely impacted the business operations and earnings. At the same time new car sales were slowing down due to the chronic inflation and recession worries.

Having said everything is not bad, the first half of 2022 witnessed a growth in the SUV and luxury car segment. While in the second second-quarter sales of electric vehicles (EVs) increased by 66 percent year over year.

Though this year’s  NAIAS 2022 Detroit Auto Show will be lackluster compared to earlier years events. Household brands such as Honda, Hyundai, Kia, or Nissan and neither car manufacturers like Audi, Porsche, or Jaguar Land Rover were missing.buickThe others that made it to the event included Subaru, Toyota and giant car makers from Germany, BMW and Mercedes. Additionally Ram, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep goods, Stellantis had a sizable booth at the event.

The automaker’s booth was primarily devoted to driving demos. Jeep 4xs scaled challenging terrain, and Ram 1500s towed objects to demonstrate durability.

General Motors was at the other end of the corridor. Behind plain concrete walls, a modest display for Cadillac was placed. Then Buick, just as insignificant as Chevy. But Chevy overtook the GM brands. They had achieved their position with the most modest result since pre-pandemic days.

Ford had the exhibit for their new Mustang model, but it was outside of the main floor. While the Mustang was the headliner of the Detroit Auto Show.Ford JeepThere is no sign of the kind of hybrid drivetrains or all-wheel drive gearbox technology that Ford was said to be developing. The new models are quite similar in style, but offer the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and 5.0-liter naturally aspirated Coyote V8 engines.

The new Buick Wildcat EV concept was created to lay the foundation for the brand’s future design language. However, it has no plans to produce the study as it is or any other coupes in the future.

The electric vehicle is coming soon. Buick is launching its first EV in 2024 to keep up with the trend and after announcing that by the end of the decade, it will not have any gas-powered cars.
