According to OnlyFans Russian creators’ accounts will be temporarily paused, as they cannot properly serve their Russian creator community.

OnlyFans is a popular platform for adult content made for sex workers, said in a statement, “Over the past few months we have explored several options to continue providing our services to creators impacted by the Russia / Ukraine war. However, due to a further tightening of payment restrictions to and from Russia, OnlyFans can no longer properly serve our Russian creator community.”

The platform further said, “As a result, we are taking steps to temporarily pause accounts where payments are received in Russia.”

Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February the site has been blocked for Russian creators from accessing their earnings and accounts. Actions were taken as a result of the economic sanctions leading to panic and fear amongst creators as their payments to OnlyFans creators were not supported, many of whom rely on the platform for their livelihoods. Accounts and payments were restored later with full functionality.

The subscription-based service after two months says it will not be able to support Russian creators. Though this appears to be temporary it is not clear what the policy will be for users in Russia.

Many other social media platforms have blocked banned or hindered services in Russia. This includes Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and many more
