Twitter introduces Stripe pilot cryptocurrency payments for creators. The new partnership will enable users of Twitter’s Ticketed Spaces and Super Follows programs to receive their earnings from the company in USD Coin, a Stablecoin whose value is pegged to the U.S. dollar.
Last year Twitter introduced monetization features in a bid to integrate more into the “creator” economy and boost revenues.
Twitter users can receive crypto payments and store their earnings in crypto wallets on the Polygon network, a crypto infrastructure firm built on the Ethereum blockchain and they can also exchange them for other currencies.
According to Stripe, the crypto payments are routed via Stripe Connect; it will also handle know-your-customer requirements. More options for payments will be included for other cryptocurrencies in the future.
