Apple's Emergency SOS via satellite now available in the UK France Ireland and Germany

Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite feature will now be available to iPhone 14 series users in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Ireland. Earlier this feature was available for iPhone 14 series users only in the USA and Canada.

Emergency SOS for iPhone allows you to send an emergency message to local police, fire stations, and ambulance services from anywhere with no cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. When you use the feature, a questionnaire will appear asking you about your situation. The interface will then guide you on how to point your iPhone so it can find your location and the emergency responders in your area. This includes the questionnaire responses that you enter, along with the details about the situation. These responses will also include your location and altitude when they’re sent in an emergency alert.

Apple SOS can help you instantly send an SMS message to a call center and ask Apple-trained specialists to contact emergency services on your behalf. If you share your coordinates with your emergency contacts, they’ll know where you are. And thanks to the questionnaire Apple SOS sends you, responders will already have details about everything from allergies to medical conditions and first-responder certifications.

You can use the Find My app to quickly and easily send a map of your location with satellite accuracy, even if you’re in an area without cellular coverage.
